Scots engineer James Watt graces new Ј50 banknote

THE Bank of England has announced that a new banknote featuring Scottish engineer James Watt will go into circulation on 2 November.
Watt, who was instrumental in creating the Caledonian canal and whose inventions paved the way for the industrial revolution, is to appear with Matthew Boulton on the new 50.
The Boulton and Watt banknote marks the first time two portraits have
