MNS candidate is Nashik mayor

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) candidate Yatin Wag was today elected as Mayor of Nashik. Wag polled 54 votes with the backing of BJP in the 122-member Nashik civic body. Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP abstained from voting. The Raj Thackeray-led party with 40 seats was able to muster the required numbers to win the mayoral election held today with the help of BJP - which has 14 corporators in the newly elected NMC - and with also support from Independents and others. The Shiv Sena with 19 seats
